Manufacture Hastelloy C276 Nickel Alloy Tube for Heat Exchanger
1.Description:
Hastelloy C276 is a nickel-molybdenum-chromium high alloy with an
inclusion of tungsten made to have outstanding corrosion protection
in a wide array of critical environments. The superior nickel and
also molybdenum contents make the nickel metal alloy particularly
resistant to pitting or crevice rust in decreasing environments
when chromium conveys level of resistance to oxidizing media. The
lower carbon content reduces carbide precipitation during welding
to sustain corrosion protection in as-welded structures. This
nickel alloy is resistant against the composition of grain boundary
precipitates in the weld heat-affected area, hence which makes it
ideal for most chemical procedure application in an like welded
condition.
Even though there are many different versions of the Hastelloy
nickel alloy, Hastelloy C-276 is probably the most in-demand.
Alloy C-276 is popular in the nearly all severe environments for
example chemical processing, pollution regulation, pulp or paper
production, industrialized and also city waste treatment, and also
restore of sour natural gas .
2.Features of Hastelloy C276
• Excellent rust resistance in decreasing environments
• Exceptional resistance to solid solutions of oxidizing salt, for
instance ferric and also cupric chlorides
• High nickel as well as molybdenum contents offering superior
corrosion resistance in decreasing environments
3.Machinability
The alloy is considered moderate to difficult to machine, but can
be machined using conventional methods. The alloy has a high work
hardening rate, and efficient machining requires rigid and
overpowered machines, sharp tools, preferably carbide-tipped, and
heavy, constant feeds.
4.Weldability
The alloy welds in a similar manner to C-22 alloy. Gas-tungsten-arc
welding (GTAW) and shielded-metal-arc welding (SMAW) are commonly
used to weld C-276 alloy.
It is recommended that the alloy be in the solution-annealed
condition for welding, and that C-276 filler metal be used.
Submerged-arc-welding is not recommended for this alloy as there is
high heat input with this method and slow cooling of the weld.
Neither is Oxyacetylene welding recommended, due to the danger of
carbon pickup in the weld.
