1. Working principle of medium frequency transformer

The working principle of medium frequency transformer is: working on the principle of magnetic induction. A transformer has two sets of coils. Primary coil and secondary coil. The secondary coil is outside the primary coil. When the primary coil is connected with alternating current, the transformer core generates alternating magnetic field, and the secondary coil generates induced electromotive force. The coil turns ratio of a transformer is equal to the voltage ratio.

2.The role of the medium frequency transformer

The role of the medium frequency transformer is to convert the power supply voltage of the medium frequency generator (such as the thyristor medium frequency power supply, medium frequency generator or vacuum tube oscillator, etc.) into the voltage required by the quenching induction coil or other devices. Medium frequency transformer is generally dry type, water cooling. When the high frequency current passes through the conductor, the current distribution on the conductor section is uneven due to the influence of the subset effect and the proximity effect. The skin depth of the current in the copper is: so the primary and secondary windings are wound by rectangular hollow copper pipes, which are cooled by water. Current density is selected in relation to water flow and can be up to + amperes per square millimeter. The winding can be wound into a cylinder type or cake type, and the copper plate can be welded into a cylinder type winding when the secondary current is larger. Copper pipe should be able to withstand 490kPa(5kgf/cm), 5min pressure test, copper plate welding winding should withstand 196kPa(2kgf/cm), 5min pressure test without leakage phenomenon. When both primary and secondary windings are pie, they are arranged overlapping; When cylindrical, concentric arrangement. The core is made of 0.2mm or thinner electrical steel sheets. Because the intermediate frequency is much higher than the power frequency, the core will produce a large eddy current and hysteresis loss, so the flux density cannot be too high. When the use frequency is 2500Hz, the magnetic density is 0.75T and below; When the frequency is 8000Hz, 0.3T or below is used. The heat sink welded with rectangular hollow copper tube should be placed properly between the laminates of the iron core, and the water internal cooling structure should be adopted. The heat sink is made of 1mm thick copper plate, and the square copper tube is welded around it. The laminated thickness between the two adjacent heat sinks is generally about 15mm. If the use of high saturation, low unit loss, moisture resistance and thermal aging resistance of ferrite core materials, you can reduce the temperature rise of the core.
